Since Jan. 23, 2023, when I last posted to The Turn, I have published 16 articles to Woke Watch Canada, seven of which I wrote. In fact, since the beginning of January, I have dedicated the vast majority of my time to Woke Watch Canada. I have changed the general format, launched a new fundraising initiative, and started a weekly review of the Gender Wars. For the first part of today’s update I will explain what all of these changes and new developments at Woke Watch Canada entail.
Changes to the general format of Woke Watch Canada
I have increased the posting on Woke Watch Canada to 6 days per week. For most weeks I won’t be posting anything on Sundays. From Monday to Friday the articles will be around 700-1000 words (sometimes a little more), and any of our long-form essays or academic writing will be published on Saturdays - the idea being that readers can now take the whole weekend to read one of our in-depth long-from works.
All of our long-form essays are now organized by author on a new page called Essays, to make them easier to find.
New Fundraising Initiative for the investigation of Canadian school boards
Regular Woke Watch Canada readers will have noticed the increase in the amount of analysis of Canadian school boards and of education in general that has been published over the last few weeks. This type of analysis requires a lot of investigative research, and in order to continue to increase the quality and quantity of our investigation and writing into Canadian school boards, I’ve launched the Canadian School Board Investigation Fund.
Readers will have seen the new message that now appears at the end of Woke Watch Canada posts which explains that there are now two ways concerned citizens can support Woke Watch Canada through donations. 1) Through taking out a paid subscription to the Woke Watch Canada Substack (a paid subscription for The Turn Substack is also encouraged). 2) Donating to the Canadian School Board Investigation Fund through the Donorbox platform, by clicking on the button:
I thank everyone who has come through with a donation for Woke Watch Canada! Your support is helping to expose dysfunctional school boards and policies across Canada. As donations increase, expect more and more in-depth investigation and reporting. As well, there are many rumblings happening from disparate regions across the country, parents are fed up and starting to organize push back. I have spoken with several parent organizers and have much to report on. Expect to see detailed coverage of the Canadian parent uprising as it unfolds. These are consequential times, your support is much needed and appreciated!
Some prime examples of the type of education analysis being published on Woke Watch Canada:
On February 2nd, I co-wrote Parents bullied and disrespected at school board meeting with parent, Elton Robinson, about a board meeting he attended in Windsor where a concerned parent who delegated at the meeting on age inappropriate sexualized content in school libraries, was bullied and talked down to by some trustees on the board. Then on the 7th, I wrote about the PDSB’s hiring criteria for principals and vice principals - Only woke principals to be recruited: the PDSB is embarrassing itself again
As well, regular Woke Watch Canada contributor, Igor Stravinsky (an anonymous Canadian high school teacher), wrote three essays examining the PDSB directors Final Report - regarding the transfer of power back to the democratically elected trustees from the government appointed supervisor that had taken over the PDSB over two years ago. The first essay - Woke Supervisor Hands Back Control of the Peel District School Board. The second - The PDSB is Back Under the Control of the Democratically Elected Trustees. The third - PDSB Director of Education Presents Second Annual Equity Accountability Report Card.
On February 8th, another anonymous teacher, regular contributor to Woke Watch Canada, Not Woke Teacher, wrote an analysis of the Unlearn posters (woke propaganda) that are appearing in the classrooms, libraries, and hallways of schools across Canada
Also, concerning education were two great essays by educator Den Clemens. One asked What’s Wrong with Woke Education?, and the other answered What To Do About Woke Education?
Woke Watch Canada’s weekly review of the Gender Wars
Regular Woke Watch Canada contributor, Shannon Douglas, and myself, are putting together a weekly review of the madness and mysticism of the ongoing Gender Wars. Read Volume one - GENDER WARS: Gender Transitioning kids, School Rainbow Campaigns & Parent's Right To be Informed. And volume two will be published tomorrow. Expect to see a Woke Watch Canada Gender Wars report every Friday!

A few comments on Woke Watch Canada’s long-form essays
On Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, I published a mind blowing essay by Canadian author and lawyer, Peter Best. This essay is an important examination of how the law is applied differently to indigenous Canadians. But it is also about highly undemocratic and illiberal processes, many involving a little known government policy called the “Practice Directive,” which essentially instructs crown attorneys to give away Canadian taxpayer funds to undeserving indigenous rent-seekers who go through the trouble of formally demanding it.
From Peter Best essay:
“Aboriginal Canadians will never leave their civically infantile state and “grow up” until their leaders stop so relentlessly blaming the rest of Canada for their present situation, and start to see their history in more relative, mature terms- start to regard non-Aboriginal Canadians, past and present, as generally the well-meaning, flawed humans, (just like them), that we were and are- and start to move on and away from the petulant, culturally adolescent, intellectual and psychic state their leaders are presently mired in.”
The other long form essay I published, this one on Saturday Feb. 4th, was written by retired Manitoba Provincial Judge, Brian Giesbrecht. Brian tackled the taboo subject of indigenous alcohol abuse and child neglect. You will not find very much information on this topic anywhere in Canada’s legacy media. Even most independent writers shy away from this sad and sensitive topic. But one cannot even begin to understand the situation that indigenous Canadians are faced with, if they have no awareness of the perspective that Brian’s great essay brings.
From Brian’s Essay:
“The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report purports to tell a comprehensive story of the experience of Indigenous people and residential schools. But when doing so it virtually omits one of the tragic, but essential parts of that story – the tragic toll that alcohol has taken on the Indigenous community. Understanding the devastating role alcohol played on reserve life is key to grasping the scope of the parental neglect issue that resulted in so many of the residential school placements. Then, as now, the Indigenous child welfare problem – parental neglect stemming from alcohol abuse – is a problem of massive proportions”
I’ll leave it at that for today. Thanks again to all supporters of The Turn and Woke Watch Canada, I couldn’t be doing this important work without you!
And please consider donating to the Canadian School Board Investigation Fund.

Thanks for all your excellent work! I had not realized you were on the Richard Syrett show - I have a weekly segment with him focusing on homeschooling on Tuesdays at 4:50. Many of our conversations are transformed into articles on my substack 'School of the Unconformed'. I'll listen into your anit-woke book club next time!
Thank you so much for what you are doing on all of these topics. It is vital, brave and make legacy media look like the shills they are for government and all the powers that be.
