Thanks for dropping by my substack! If you are new you can read A Small Part Of My Story.
It’s been a month since I last published to The Turn - my personal substack where I post serial installments of a book I’m writing - The Woke West: The Identity Politics, Cancel Culture, Radical Activism And Forbidden Knowledge Dividing The West...And What You Can Do About It! Below I will include links to the first chapter of the book.
Readers of The Turn will know that the main subject matter of chapter one was “cancel culture.” I went through a number of examples of both Canadians and others who have been hurt in some way by the woke mob. Usually “cancellation” is the outcome in these accounts but sometimes, as is the case with Thomas Sowell, it is avoidance, willful ignoring or suppression of the ideas of those that practice “forbidden knowledge” and do not fit in with the prevailing orthodoxy.
Going forward I will not be posting in a serial fashion (as I did for the first chapter). Instead, I plan to publish short essays in a more random fashion that will be re-configured later into a chapterized book structure after I feel I’ve exhausted all the topics I aim to cover. Below I’m providing a loose overview of the topics (chapters) The Woke West will include. But don’t hold me to it, things could easily change and end up going in a different direction. But for now this is roughly how I’d like to see the finished product structured.
But before we go there, let me first alert readers of The Turn to the other substack I regularly contribute essays to; Woke Watch Canada . Many of the essays I write for Woke Watch Canada will also later become part of the final assembly of the book The Woke West. The Woke Watch Canada substack hosts many great writers covering the topic of Wokeism in Canada from many different angles. Spend some time there, you won’t regret it!
I write and curate content for this awesome substack. If you are a Canadian with something you feel is worthwhile to contribute to Woke Watch Canada please reach out to me on twitter and I would be glad to take a look.
Here are the essays I’ve written for Woke Watch Canada so far:
Billboard Chris Takes His Message To Toronto And Ottawa Schools.
Gender Nonconformity Is A Straight White Person’s Ticket To Woke Acceptance.
Hand Picked History - The Peel District School Board Forgets Remembrance Day
The Peel District School Board And White Supremacy (Part 1 of 2).
The Peel District School Board And White Supremacy (Part 2 of 2).
Profits Of Division: The Unfair Equity Of The Diversity And Inclusion Industry.
Re-Evaluating Canada’s (Un)Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Back to the Woke West
Even though chapter one of the Woke West dealt mostly with cancel culture (by detailing several high profile examples), I saved some examples of cancellations for chapters that are specific to the subject matter for which the cancelled found themselves so. For example, the cancelling of Frances Widdowson from Mount Royal University is in the chapter on Canadian Indigenous issues (an area where the woke have virtually shut down debate). Michael Rectenwald’s cancellation from New York University is detailed as a way to introduce the professor in the chapter I’m planning about wokeism in big tech. Ayann Hirsi Ali’s story is similarly saved for the chapter on woke issues surrounding Islamic extremism.
So roughly speaking, the book should look something like this when finished:
Chapter 1 - Cancel Culture
Chapter 2 - The Woke Re-Writing Of History And The Indigenization Of Canada
Chapter 3 - White Supremacy, Antisemitism and Islamic Extremism
Chapter 4 - Woke History - How Critical Theories and Postmodernism Have Led To Dark And Desperate Places
Chapter 5 - What is happening in K-12 in Canadian schools?
Chapter 6 - The Woke And Big Tech
Chapter 7 - Psychology & Epistemology: What The Individual Mind Needs To Counter The Collective Mind.
Chapter 8 - Fighting Back Against Wokeism: Counter Wokecraft, Parallel Structures, Self-Mastery.
If you have not read any of The Woke West here is the first installment. At the bottom of every post is a link to the next. Chapter one is twelve posts in total and ends with When Immigrants Stand Up For Canada.
Aside from writing essays on Wokeism I am also planning to host anonymous Zoom meetings for Canadians who work in organizations that are facing woke encroachment. Using Charles Pincourt & James Lindsay’s book Counter Wokecraft as a manual, I plan to help woke dissidents organize and fight back against woke ideological entrenchment in institutions and work places. More to come on this soon. Message me directly (on twitter) if you are interested.
Thank you everyone who has taken the time to read my essays both here and on Woke Watch Canada. Please keep your eyes peeled on both substacks. I’m working on a ton of interesting stuff and I’m excited to put it all together for you.
