Rumble May Be The “Parallel Structure” Needed To Counter Big Tech’s Censorship Proclivities!
Glenn Greedwald Moves System Update to Rumble
“Our discourse is becoming increasingly intolerant of dissenting views, and our culture is demanding more and more submission to prevailing orthodoxies imposed by self-anointed monopolists of Truth and Righteousness, backed up by armies of online enforcement mobs.” - Glenn Greenwald
Integrity and a commitment to the truth is in short supply. Thank god we have Glenn Grenwald!
Because of the tightening of constraints on freedom of the press, our Pulitzer Prize winning journalistic titan, has left the Intercept (an independent media platform he co-founded), and moved his writing over to Sub-Stack (I highly recommend you subscribe) and his video analysis to the Canadian video sharing platform Rumble.
Rumble is the video platform of free speech! It was founded in 2013 by Canadian technology entrepreneur Chris Pavlovski, who believes that the adjudication of content (censorship by actor or algorithm) falls outside the purview of tech platforms. Not a view shared by the Google-owned Youtube.
Because of this, and the notable increase in Rumble's monthly user count (which has experienced rapid growth since July 2020, from 1.6 million monthly users to 31.9 million by the end of the first quarter of 2021), Big Tech and Legacy Media have launched a grand smear campaign to try and paint Rumble as a platform of right-wing extremism and conspiracy nuts.
Don’t Fall For It!
The Big Tech and Corporate Media monopolists will fallaciously and relentlessly claim that platforms outside of their discourse-controlling perimeter are bastions of evil extremists and conspiracy theorists. They are equating free speech with extremism and conspiracy theory. Free speech is not a conspiracy, but efforts to block it are.
Supporting Rumble + Glenn Greedwald = Supporting Free Speech
PS. The use of Parallel Structures in the title refers to former Czeckoslovakian president, Vaclav Havel, and ideas found in his book “Power of the Powerless.” A quote from Vaclav:
“What else are parallel structures than an area where a different life can be lived, a life that is in harmony with its own aims and which in turn structures itself in harmony with those aims?”
