Exposing Children To Sexual Content Is Not Progress
Activists Are Fooled By The Gender Identity Industry
On June 23, I posted a controversial piece to Woke Watch Canada - Concerned Father Confronts School Board With Pornographic Images From School's Own Libraries (substack.com) . Today’s post for The Turn is somewhat of a ramble on the topic. Although I do consider gender ideology & transgenderism to be one of my files, I’ve so far not written very much about it. That needs to change, as does the alarming and relatively recent inclusion of inappropriate sexualized content in Canadian school libraries (k-12).
Why are Canadian schools making these books available for children? I’m not sure I will answer that question today, but I’ll poke around at it. But first, let's pull our focus way back and determine exactly what the big picture is.
On Nov. 21 2019 artist and journalist Jenifer Bilek tweeted the following:
Instituting gender identity as a legal construct deconstructs what it means to be human at core: a biologically, sexually dimorphic species.
This is the point.
Think about this carefully.
Gender is an obfuscation.
The state is deconstructing sex.
Jenifer Bilek has made the point that we need to get away from the defensive position of explaining the validity of human sexual dimorphism, and start pointing to the money driving the gender identity industry. That is what this is…an industry. But more, the medical industrial complex. In her piece, Who Are the Rich, White Men Institutionalizing Transgender Ideology?, Bilek points out that Corporations don’t just get behind the civil rights initiatives of a tiny segment of the population out of altruism. The real motivation is money. Isn’t it always?
So who is investing in the gender identity industry? All of the most powerful global banks, pharmaceutical companies and corporations. This is an industry of corportists using body dissociation to create and expand markets related to transgenderism. Our schools, government, culture and the mega-corporations that span the globe are all participating in the propaganda designed to normalize gender ideology. The purpose for now, it seems, is to force acceptance of “progressive” conceptions of gender, what most people view with skepticism (to say the least), in such a coercive manner as to prevent questions concerning the finances involved in, for example - puberty blocking drugs, cross sex-homones, double mastectomies, sex reassignment surgery, or non-binary surgery (drilling a hole through the scrotum into the body). The economics involved in these products and practices are immeasurable.
The gender identity industries comprise technological, medical, and pharmaceutical infrastructure with billions of dollars invested globally. Adjacent is the Diversity & Inclusion industry - it brings us Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training in schools, unions, government agencies, public institutions and business. This “training” is nothing more than indoctrination into the academic ideologies that corportists, involved in the gender identity industry, are using to create and expand related markets and increase reliance on the industrial medical complex. Yes they are targeting children. First, by confusing them and indoctrinating them. Second, by leading them to body dissociation ideation. Then to puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and eventually cross sex surgeries. The pathway from puberty blockers on, most often leads one to become not just a lifelong medical patient, but a lifelong dependent on the identity industry and the greater medical industrial complex.
Canadian fathers are not having this nonsense. Pierre Barns is one, I am another, there is Shannon Boschy (who is running for school trustee in Ottawa), and I can’t leave out Billboard Chris, and there are countless others that are organizing the effort to shut this nonsense down. The mothers are with us too, in many cases they are leading the charge. Catherine Kronas comes to mind (a mother and organizer who started stopwoke.ca in protest of the alarmingly illiberal Bill C-67).
Many other Canadians who don’t yet have children have also joined the struggle - teachers, principles, concerned citizens from across the nation. Smart Canadians that know what is going on, that Critical Theories, Gender Ideology, Queer Theory - and the activist arms that push these ideologies (TRA, LGBTQ, Pride, etc.) - have devolved into something antithetical to the civil rights orientation that formed them.
To be clear, no Canadian that I call a friend, not even the pissed off fathers like Pierre and Shannon, wish to deny any member of the LGBTQ community, or any adult advocate of Queer/Gender theory, any of their rights. Canadians, who agree that the liberal society we enjoy is generally a good thing, want everyone to have equal access to all of the benefits and opportunities Canada offers. We want everyone to feel accepted. We want everyone (at least the people here) to join the Canadian project, to contribute to it in some way, or at least, to appreciate what is good and special about it. What could be more inclusive than that? In the coming days I’m going to write some thoughts on Canadian Nationalism and ethno-national identity (the ideas of Eric Kaufmann get pulled in!). Watch for that!
It’s not just that the claims of activists - of rampant transphobia and systemic racism - are hurtful to Canadians, it’s that the claims do not have compelling evidence to back them up. Infact, in most cases there is compelling evidence that refutes the woke activists. And even more, like in the work of Jenifer Bilek, the profit incentive behind the monetization of misery found in the gender identity industry is revealed. Because of the sensitive nature of racism and transphobia, and the guilt that white people are manipulated into (which is designed to stop them from questioning or challenging accusations of bigotry etc.), very little gets spoken or written about it. No one asks what the “victims” are getting out of these narratives of racism and LGBTQ-phobia, or if those claiming to be victims are really victims at all. Well some do, but not many. That needs to change.
If we lived in a society that was serious about truth-seeking, the questions discussed above would be the tip of the iceberg. In the coming days I will have more to say about the counter woke activism that is organizing across the country. It is manifesting in a number of different ways, which is good, the efforts are spread out, the problem is being attacked from a number of different angles. A number of different groups are assembling who prioritize different core values. But all of them have found a common enemy in this illiberal and anti-human movement taking over the west. I've been calling it - reified postmodern identity politics (with totalitarian characteristics), but most people know it simply as wokeism. And yes this umbrella term includes the gender ideology seeking to normalize the medicalization of children based on gender identity.
All of the academic theories (aka woke political ideologies) mentioned above (critical gender theory, queer theory, etc.) and many more, are radical. They call for revolution - which entails a total rejection of the liberal society that generated them (talk about biting the hand that feeds). They all claim to be Marxist, or neo-Marxist. Whatever that means. But Marx was primarily concerned with the class struggle between underpaid and over-exploited workers and those who owned the means of production and had a tendency to keep too much of the profits for themselves.
This class struggle is still an important one. The corporations that exist now are by far the most powerful concentrations of wealth the world has ever seen emerge from the private sector. And they are demonstrating, by monetizing transgenderism that there is no level they will not sink to in the name of profit. But the Left - who should be holding these corporations to account (keeping their greed to manageable levels) - are off adapting (bastardizing) Marx’s idea’s to an intersectional framework of race, gender, sex, sexuality, able-bodyness, and economic class (as an after thought) - which has everyone either confused, enraged, or competing for victim points which promises advatages over intersectionality’s victimizers (scapegoats), white men. Sigh.
I will have more to say about woke adaptations of Marxism. And why old-school Marxist academics, like my friend Frances Widdowson who describes herself as a historical materialist, take issue with Marxism being invoked in critiques of wokeism. In my essay The Corruption Of Canada’s Indigenous Victim Industry (substack.com) Frances’ conception of wokeism (which makes no mention of Marxism) is discussed:
It began to take hold in academia in the 1960s as a relativist philosophy termed deconstructive postmodernism. This “disarmed the academy so they no longer had science/logic as constraining methods, which allowed identity politics to assert itself. However, at first identity politics was accepted as just another viewpoint, but in this later stage it has become reified. This final stage is a totalitarian development - you must accept the claims of identity politics. Identities must be made real.” - Frances Widdowson
From this I extrapolated - reified postmodern identity politics (with totalitarian characteristics) - which I consider to be the most accurate definition of wokeism. There are many reasons this movement is attractive to corporatists, the totalitarian character being among the main ones.
According to the gender identity idealogues and the corporatist’s profiting from the gender identity industry, when a child claims they identify as the opposite sex, it must be affirmed, or reified. The child’s new gender identity must be made real.
Anyway, last Thursday, after I posted about Pierre Barns’ love letters to school trustees, there was quite the reaction across social media. There seems to generally be more momentum and media scrutinizing Trans Rights Activism (as it relates to children), critical gender theory in K-6, and trans women in women’s sports and prisons. The world swimming governing body, FINA, reversed the decision which allowed trans swimmer Lia Thomas to compete (and dominate) the women's category. More women's sport governing bodies are expected to follow suit. Although, there was a major setback south of the border, involving the Biden administration's Title IX reforms! One step forward, two steps back.
All of these issues are serious. Trans women should have all the rights every other Canadian has, but they should not infringe on the rights of biologically born women. Sometimes the intersection between trans women and biological women requires the distinction, sometimes not. In order for trans women to respect the rights of biological women, and thereby participate in the liberal society that respects and recognizes their choices and civil rights, they have to accept this distinction. However, none of this extends to the issue of children. The transing, queering or affirming of children, behind the backs of parents, must stop right away!
People are generally outraged when they learn that the images Pierre puts together are from Canadian school libraries. I saw many similar comments and questions circulating around Twitter. People asking things like “what the hell are they thinking?” It is the same question people ask when they see video or hear about children attending Pride Parades or Drag Queen storytime. These things are absurd. If they are not child grooming, then what are they doing, and what is the point? How are these practices not about acquiescing and co-operating with the imperatives of the anti-human gender identity industry?
We now live in a society where parents need to worry that the classroom their child attends might have a “gender closet” (which exist for the purpose of keeping gender non-conforming public affirmation hidden from parents), or any of the books that Pierre Barnes has listed, Or LGBTQ political signage or slogans - none of these things belong in classrooms, and no field trips should involve Drag Queens, sexualized content, or the queering of anything - all of these things are adult concepts, and Canadian parents do not want their children exposed to these images or ideas.

In the coming days and weeks I will update The Turn readers on Pierre Barns progress. I encourage readers to follow him, share his content, and support him in his effort to remove the books with sexualized not age appropriate content rooted in gender ideology, from school libraries.

Few parents realize how sexualized elementary school would become if we go further down the road mapped out by the woke folk. Institutions in the west have to stop the indoctrination from the hard left.
